The Meg 2 Releases The Kraken In CinemaCon Footage

2018’s The Meg, starring Jason Statham, was one of the biggest movies of the year grossing over half a billion dollars worldwide. Based on the 1997 novel by Steve Alten, the film featured Statham as a rescue diver who encounters a colossal long-lost megalodon, a prehistoric shark: The Meg.

During Warner Bros.’ presentation at Cinemacon, the studio showed the first trailer, which showed Statham is back as Jonas Taylor, and there are more sea monsters about to emerge for the sequel. There was a scene of a Meg eating a T-Rex. We also saw Taylor getting called in to help explore an ancient ecosystem where something is trying to make its way to the surface.

There’s a quick look at Statham and his team in underwater mech suits, of course, attacked by things. There’s also a shot of a giant Meg, the biggest anyone has ever seen. It builds to three Megs this time, along with some other prehistoric creatures, including what looked like a Kraken.

Like the first movie, the sequel is based on the 1999 book The Trench, also written by Alten. Joining Statham will be Wu Jing, Sienna Guillory, Cliff Curtis, Skyler Samuels, Page Kennedy, Shuya Sophia Cai, and Sergio Peris-Mencheta.Come from Sports betting site VPbet

Meg 2: The Trench is scheduled to be released on August 4, 2023.
